Microsoft CSP pricing in November brings some interesting developments for MSPs, including price reductions for Power Apps Premium and the introduction of Microsoft 365 A7 trial SKUs for education. There are also increases across several server software subscriptions and education Planner licences.
1. New opportunities: Power Apps Premium and Microsoft 365 A7
- Power Apps Premium price reductions
Power Apps Premium has dropped approximately 9%, from $39.48 to $35.88 RRP. Education and non-profit versions have also been reduced.
For MSPs, this creates an opportunity to help small business clients digitise manual processes, automate workflows and build custom business applications without investing in traditional software development. The lower price point may make Power Apps more attractive to clients with specific operational challenges, while creating opportunities for MSPs to offer application development, implementation and ongoing support services.
- New Microsoft 365 A7 trial SKUs
Microsoft has introduced 10 new Microsoft 365 A7 trial SKUs covering education faculty and student licences, including variants with and without Teams and Copilot.
For Partners supporting schools and education organisations, these new SKUs are worth watching as potential opportunities to evaluate Microsoft’s evolving education offering and discuss future licencing requirements with clients.
All new A7 SKUs are currently listed as $0.00 trials, with no paid pricing available in the November list.
2. Other pricing changes to be aware of
- Server software subscriptions: Windows Server 2025, System Center 2025 and SQL Server 2025 software subscription prices have increased by approximately 5%. MSPs managing on-premises or hybrid environments should review the impact on upcoming quotes and renewals.
- Planner Plan 1 for education: Faculty pricing has increased from $0.74 to $3.72, while student pricing has risen from $0.42 to $2.76. Although the dollar increases are relatively small per licence, the cumulative impact could be significant for education customers with larger deployments.
